Amber’s Christmas Gift Guide - Teenagers To Toddlers
Christmas is my favourite time of year. I go all out on the decorations, the rum balls and the table setting (more details on my table setting later).
How it started
With four kids ranging in age from 14 to 4, I found that my life was simpler when I bought my Christmas gifts early. The result is that a few friends asked me what I’d bought for my daughters, son, husband, friends and teachers. This trickle turned into a steady stream so I began to email around a list.
This year, I thought I’d share my official Christmas Gift Lists on-line. I’m starting with the kids. So today I’m sharing Amber’s Christmas Gift Guide from Teenagers to Toddlers. You’ll see that there’s more gifts for girls than boys on this list, the reason being, I have three girls (a teenager, a tween and a toddler).
Stay tuned for my other lists which are coming soon - Amber’s Christmas Gift Guide for Adults and Amber’s Christmas Gift Guide - Books & Media. So here goes:
Amber’s Christmas Gift Guide from Teenagers to Toddlers
Teenagers
Bobby Bag by Poppy Lissiman
Teenagers love bags by Poppy Lissiman. All her bags (and sunglasses) are faux leather and cruelty free. The Bobby Bag will be under our Christmas Tree this year.
Venroy
For casual, easy to wear clothes that your teenager will love, the answer is Venroy. The short linen skirts or long linen trousers are ideal for summer or layering over bikinis.
Knit Tops
Cute knit tops are a big part of the teenage girl’s wardrobe. For neutral colours and quality fabrics, see the range at Dissh.
Triangl Bikinis
If you have a daughter or niece, it’s good to know that Triangl bikinis are “it”. If you’re thinking that they are extremely brief - you’re right. Mercifully, Triangl also make shorts for wearing over the top. Add some fake tan as a stocking filler (Bondi Sands is our go-to).
White Rubber Birks
These Birkenstocks are made from rubber so they’re the flip flop version of the original. They come in many colours, however, white is a popular choice. Birkenstock Arizona.
Aje Logo Top
Teenagers are very knowledgeable about current brands and Aje is at the top of their list. This high-end brand is known for it’s feminine dresses plus they’ve recently expanded into active wear. For teenagers, you can’t wrong with an Aje knit logo top.
MakeUp Remover Pads by Enjo
Obsessed with Enjo? You’ll love these. Perversely, I dislike the task of cleaning so I don’t own Enjo cleaning products. But I do love Enjo’s makeup remover pads because they’re effortless. After using them, I throw them in the wash. Easy, peasey. They also reduce waste - no more buying disposable make-up remover pads. They make a great stocking filler. See all the gorgeous colours in the Sante range by Enjo.
Skin Juice - SPF that’s cool
It’s not easy convincing teenagers that a daily SPF is the best way to keep their youthful glow (#foreveryoung). But the Skin Juice SPF-15 or daily tinted moisturiser with SPF-15 is a good bet with it’s aesthetic packaging. Makes a great stocking-filler.
2. Tweens
Galaxy Lights
Tweens are a difficult age bracket to buy for. But these Galaxy lights are a guaranteed hit for both boys and girls as they project a starry night onto the walls of their bedroom. This idea started on TikTok and became an international hit. There are many brands which sell them. I found some on amazon.
Pool Floats - French Style
Are you over the inflatable pool Swan? Me too. I’ve graduated to French-style pool floats made by Petites Pommes. Think round floats in chocolate and vanilla stripe or peppermint and cream. I bought mine from Pineapple Traders.
Face Masks
My tween loves a face-mask. Go-To Sheet masks are a favourite. A great stocking filler for your kids or as a gift for your friend’s kids.
Ikea iPad Stand
When my tween is practising dance, she needs her iPad to stand up. This iPad stand from Ikea is practical and looks good too.
Mecca Stocking Fillers
At Christmas, Mecca have great small gifts that come in gorgeous boxes filled with lip balms, sleep sprays and other fun skin care products.
3. Little Kids & Toddlers
Doll House People - That Look like Your Family
Last Christmas, Santa brought a doll house for our four year old. So I added a doll house family who look like our own family. A talented lady in Tasmania will make your family and incredibly your pets too. It’s adorable. Order before Christmas on Etsy at PansyFern.
Kids Suitcases
Travelling with little kids becomes easier when they reach the age that they can pull their own suitcase. And these pastel suitcases are both stylish and practical from Hip Kids.
Cubby House by Possum Play
My younger kids love to play cubby houses. Now they can build a fort, a house or a rock star stage, and best of all they won’t need the cushions off the couch. Win/win! They may even sleep in there when the house is full of guests. Choose your favourite colour from Possum Play.
Step Into A Van Gogh Painting
Kids love Van Gogh paintings - the sunflowers, the starry night, the Irises. And now they can step into the actual paintings in an immersive experience. Take Nanna too! Book tickets to Van Gogh Alive here in Brisbane.
Kids Guitar
Got a future rock-star at your place? Start their career with a gorgeous wooden guitar. Pre-order kids guitar here.
Light Up Football
Play footy at night with a light up football. Find the Light Ball at Big W.
And that’s a wrap for the Kids! Stay tuned for the Adult version coming soon.
