Amber’s Christmas Gift List - Adults
Christmas is my favourite time of year. I go all out on the decorations, the rum balls and the table setting (more details on my table setting later).
How it started
For the last few years, I’ve bought my Christmas gifts early. A few friends began to ask what I’d bought for my husband, daughters, son, teachers and parents. This trickle turned into a steady stream so I began to email around a list.
This year I’m sharing my Christmas Gift Lists on-line. Today, it’s my Christmas Gift List for Adults. The list has something for everyone and includes experiences, as these are my favourite type of gift to give and receive, as the memories of the experience last so much longer than the gift itself.
I hope you find something you love, for the people (and dogs) you love, on my list.

Amber Christmas Gifts List for Adults
Orlebar Brown - Swim Shorts
If your partner fancies himself as James Bond or sees himself on the deck of a yacht, he’ll love these swim shorts. The entire Orlebar Brown collection is available on-line or drop into the Noosa store.
Cool Cabana
Why has the Cool Cabana replaced every beach umbrella from Noosa to Narooma? It doesn’t fly away as they are weighted down by sand in the side pockets. Plus, they’re easy to put up.
Rattan Beach Chairs
So you’ve already up-levelled your beach umbrella to a Cool Cabana, now it’s time to add the beach chairs. These rattan beach chairs by Raja Homewares will look great at the beach but just as good at a picnic or a concert at a winery.
Bandolier Cross-Body Phone Case
Tired of asking the kids to call your phone when you can’t find it? I sure was. Then I found Bandolier. It’s essentially a phone case with a pocket for credit cards and a cross-body strap. Never lose your phone again. I chose the ‘Casey’ in pebbled leather in colour ‘Sienna’ (a dark tan). A great gift for a friend/sister/Mum who loses their phone ;)
Christmas Tree in a Box
If you can’t see someone you love this Christmas, send them a mini-Christmas Tree in a Box. The tree is real. And the decorations are cute. Longer lasting than flowers plus they make a great table centre piece on Christmas Day. From Floraly.
Amethyst Tray
These stone trays look gorgeous on a bathroom vanity or bedside table. I love the Amethyst tray, other options are Clear Quartz, Rose Quartz and Blue stone. See the entire collection and some fun party earrings at Jimena’s Gems.
Hire A Boat
My favourite gift to give and receive is an experience. A day out on the water is so much fun and a great way to tour a city. Go-Boat operates in Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra and you can drive them yourself.
Ice-Cream Spoons
Know some-one who loves to entertain? Last Christmas, my sister-in-law gave me these whimsical dessert spoons in a heart-shape from Alessi. I liked them so much I bought an extra set.
Vintage Ice-Cream Bowls
Another cute idea is vintage ice-cream bowls. Kids love to eat ice-cream from a fancy bowl. Check out Etsy for vintage sets. I bought mine at the local op shop.
Potting Bench
This rattan potting bench makes me wish I was a gardener. I’m thinking my sister would like it for her Terrace House in Sydney. It’s from Flourish by Dorset Bottega.
Christmas Pancakes
Snowflake pancakes on Christmas Day? Yes please. I’ve bought mine from Williams-Sonoma. A great gift for the cook in your life. Add a bottle of maple syrup and see if they can guess the gift.
Luxury Dog Lead
Our fur babies love Christmas too. And they’re sure to love this rope lead with brass hardware all year round. There are many colours to choose from by Animals in Charge. Our Chow Chow likes the dark green.
To really get into the swing of Christmas, how about this cute Candy Cane Dog lead? It would make a great gift for friends with a dog.
Home - Artistic Drawing
Know some-one who is moving home? Gift them an artistic drawing of their old family home / brand new abode. Georgie Arthouse draws homes beautifully. (Small (A5) size is $130.)
Night at a Hotel
Getting a way for the night in your city is decadent and fun. It’s a gift that both and your partner will enjoy so it’s Win/ Win.
In Brisbane, a night at The Calile Hotel in James Street will make you feel like you’ve been on holiday for a week. Don’t forget to book dinner at samesame, Bianca, SK Steak & Oyster or Hellenika.
In Melbourne, United Places is on the top of my wish-list in the CBD or The Continental at Sorrento which is being totally renovated and is taking bookings from April 2022.
French Pool Floats
Are you over the inflatable pool Swan? Me too. I’ve graduated to French-style pool floats made by Petites Pommes. Think round floats in chocolate and vanilla stripe or peppermint and cream. I bought mine from Pineapple Traders. (This gift was so good it also appears on my Christmas Gift Guide for Kids).
Air-Tasker - Delegate Some Chores
Know some-one who has a million and one things to do? Delegate a few house-hold jobs for them to Air-Tasker.
A friend of mine moved house, broke her leg and home schooled her kids whilst working from home. How did she keep her sanity? No idea but Air-Tasker certainly helped.
Down-load the Air-Tasker App, describe the task (eg. clean 4 bedroom house or paint the study) and find the best person for the job. Let your friend know to put their feet up. I’ve found it’s extremely satisfying to have a long-standing task completed by someone else.
Custom Ping Pong Table
After renovating our Games Room, I ordered this Ping Pong table from Maki Maki furniture for my husband for Christmas. With lots of guests staying with us over Christmas, I’m looking forward to Ping Pong tournaments with the extended family.
