Amber’s Week - Eat, Do, Read, Work
I received a great response to some Instagram stories this week on what I’m eating, doing, reading and working on, so I thought I’d start a regular blog post on “Amber’s Week”.
Eating
After returning from Aro-Ha Wellness Retreat in New Zeland, I changed my eating patterns. The biggest change was giving away red meat, dairy and alcohol. So now I’m pescatarian. One of things I ate whilst on the retreat was Miso Soup, which I’ve always enjoyed but I didn’t think I could make it myself. A friend who I met on the retreat, convinced me to try to make it myself. So I did. My version was only a 6/10 but I’m keen to make it again with white miso next time rather than the heavier red miso I used this time.
Do
On the weekend, we took the kids to “Kaleidoscope” at the PowerHouse at New Farm (photo above). It was a mirror maze and was lots of fun. A good activity for the school holidays.
I had a great surprise this week when my friend Steph returned from the USA and turned up to our weekly tennis lesson. She lives in San Diego now, but was holidaying in Fiji, when she decided to return to Brisbane and visit her old friends. My friend and tennis host threw a gorgeous morning tea to welcome Steph back to Brisbane.
Read
One of my favourite things to do is read and I’m always trying to find extra pockets of time to read. I’ve been devouring Ann Patchett’s novels lately and have just finished “These Precious Days” which is a collection of essays. My favourite book of Ann’s is “The Dutch House”.
Work
This week I’m working on bedrooms and specifically, bed heads. I’ve found a gorgeous fabric that I want to use from Style Revolutionary so I”m just deciding on the shape of the bed head now. I’ve also ordered two single bed heads for a girls room and plan to personalise them with ribbon. I’ll post more on the instagram stories as they come to life.
Enjoy your week!
Amber
PS. I’ve also started weekly yoga for the first time and am enjoying it a lot.
