Amber’s Week - Eat, Do, Read, Work
I received a great response to Instagram stories on what I’m eating, doing, reading and working on, so I thought I’d start a regular blog post on “Amber’s Week”.
Working On
My Walk-in-Robe has got a major over-haul in the past month. After receiving quotes for custom-made joinery (eeek!), I decided to go with the Pax system from Ikea. And I’m so happy that I did. The quality is amazingly good and I love the look of the pale oak. The features that I like the most are the pull-out shoe drawers and extra-wide drawers.
After measuring up my space, I designed it on the IKEA website. I had a professional IKEA installer do all the installation.
Cost Comparison
Custom Wardrobe: $10,000 - $20,000 (depending on finishes)
Ikea Pax Wardrobe: $4,000 ($2,000 for the Ikea frames /drawers etc and $2,000 for assembly / fit out).
Still not sure about using the Pax system? Email me any questions amber@studioverdigris.com
Do
I test drove the new Tesla - Model Y which recently arrived in Australia. It was my first time driving a Tesla and I loved it. Driving it is great and the interior was high quality. The biggest difference is that you don’t need to use the brake, you just ease up on the accelerator. The Tesla rep said that the Shanghai factory is producing 21,000 Tesla’s a week! Despite the production rate, the expected delivery date is March to May 2023.
Eating
After returning from Aro-Ha Wellness Retreat in New Zealand, I changed my eating patterns. I’m eating way more vegies these days and for lunch this week I made a roast vegie & quinoa frittata. I used to reject quinoa as I didn’t know how to cook it properly. But it’s just the same as rice - double the amount of water to quinoa and leave the lid off so the water is absorbed.
Amber’s Roast Vegetable Frittata Recipe:
Roast vegies (capsicum, zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes or whatever is in the fridge) with salt & pepper & oregano.
Add 4 whisked eggs and 1 cup of cooked quinoa.
Mix then bake in a greased baking dish at 175 degrees for around 25 mins.
Read
One of my favourite things to do is read and I’m always trying to find extra pockets of time to read. This week I read two books by Elizabeth Sprout, “Olive Kitteridge” and “Olive Again”. I also loved “Oh William” by the same author.
Enjoy your week!

PS. I received Mocha’s paw prints back from Marie Ramos Photography and they’re so cute.
