Aluminium windows - 3 Easy Steps from drab to fab

Aluminium windows which are silver (see pic above) or even dark cream can look dated and old. And they look even older after you’ve had your house painted! After a fresh coat of paint, your house is looking fresh and new - but the windows look like they've been there for a hundred years.

One option is to replace all the windows but the time and expense involved is high. Another more economical option is to have them painted (and spend the saving on something you really want for your new home).

There are 3 simple steps to take your windows from drab to fab!

3 Steps:

  1. Tape -Clean window then throughly tape up the glass. This is a really important step (if the paint gets on the glass it’s tough to remove).

  2. Primer - Prepare the aluminium frames by spraying on a primer. My painter used White Knight Etch from a spray can. Let it dry for 24 hours.

  3. Paint - The top coat is an epoxy from a spray can. Either White Knight or Dulux semi-gloss. They come in a range of colours including ColorBond colours.

Step back and enjoy your “new” windows. #winwin
