Amber’s Christmas Gift List - For Teens #noeyerollguarantee

Christmas is my favourite time of the year.

As a Mum of four, including three girls, I like to feel organised going into the Christmas season. So that means I do my shopping in November.

As I’m an early bird, each year my friends would ask me what I had bought as inspo for their own Christmas shopping, so I began emailing around a list. Now I post that list on-line in my annual Gift Guides.

So let’s start with the gifts for teenage girls. This age group can be a tough audience as they’re very specific about what brands they like / what’s “it”. That’s why I’ve done the research for you. They will love any one of these gifts and they come with a #noeyerollguarantee!

And whilst it’s true that the true spirit of Christmas is about family and being together, it is also heart warming to find a gift that makes your teen smile.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours,

Amber xxxx

Note: I’ve linked to each item in the heading mostly (or where there’s an underline). There’s also a Gift List for Adults coming soon.

Hoodie by Mr Winston

Mr Winston Hoodie

Every teenager loves Mr Winston hoodies and has tried (and sometimes failed) to secure their latest colour. They’re made in limited runs, so they sell out quick. The next ‘drop’ is 17 November. Register now. It will sell out.

A swishy skirt by Flannel

Flannel Skirt

Not the flannel shirts worn by hipster dudes, but the brand, “Flannel”. They make swishy, short skirts that look really cute. They also make a matching bra-lette for older teens.

Be warned: you need to be feeling flush, as they are expensive.

One Teaspoon Denim shorts

As a Mum of two teenagers, I’ve learnt the hard way that not all denim shorts are created equal. If you want to nail it, buy them from One Teaspoon. (Put a note in the diary for their “Black Friday” sale).

White Linen Shirt (over swimmers)

Walking to and from the beach, girls like a shirt. I’ve found that this white linen shirt from Just Jeans is the best value linen shirt around ($50). And it looks great with denim shorts too.

Beach Pant

To wear over the bikinis, this pant from Cotton On is a good choice ($50). If your teen loves a brand, Venroy make a cute pair too ($160). White is the colour to choose.

Bikinis

It wouldn’t be a Christmas at our place without a set of bikinis under the tree. The top choices are Triangl for older teens (the bikinis are very brief) or Cotton On for younger teens.

Active wear by STAX

Active Wear

Older teens love active wear by STAX. Buying a matching set of shorts and crop top is a great present. (Pink set shown above)

All teens seem to own a pair of Lorna Jane Flash Dance pants, so if your teen doesn’t have a pair yet now’s the time.

Lulu Lemon is still a crowd pleaser and their Define Jacket Nulu in black is safe bet.

Poppy Lissiman Sunglasses

If you bought the Poppy Lissiman “Bobby” bag last year for your teen (see details below), you know how much teens love this brand. This year they’ll want the Chesko Sunglasses. And they’ll especially love the ‘can’t miss it’ logo on the side. Colours vary.

Pink Eyelash Curler

I’ve been instructed there’s only one brand to buy - Lash Therapy ($25). If you’re looking for extra brownie points get the eye lash serum too. #whoknew?

Jewellery

Teen girls love a piercing so earrings are a great choice. Hoops, are a hot favourite right now. The brand “By Charlotte” uses 14k gold so it will not tarnish and it is good quality. The bracelets such as the dusk to dawn or the zodiac bracelets are very popular.

Roxy Ski Jacket

Going skiing in 2023? Roxy’s “Quinn” snow jacket has a tonal vibe that teens love. Plus, there’s 30% off when you sign up.

Fur Birks

Your teen has probably already got Birks in a few colours but fur Birks are cool with socks in Winter.

Skin Care

My teenager has a 22-step skin care routine (#notkidding), so anything from Mecca is going to be a winner.

(Bonus points: if the grandparents ask what they can buy your teen for Christmas a sure-fire winner is a Mecca gift card.)

If you prefer to buy an actual gift:

  • Benetint Cheek & Lip Tint

  • A face mask/lip balm set (above) from Go-To ticks all the boxes for $26.

  • A face massager (known as a ‘Gua Sha’) made by Kit is “essential” at $35. (Everyone on TikTok uses one!)

  • If you want to be the cool Mum / Aunt / Nan, teens love the fragrance mists by Sol de Janeiro (especially No. 40).

Shower Foam by Sundae

Sundae Foam

This shower foam is fun (as it squirts out like whipped cream) & it smells delicious. There’s heaps of fruity flavours and a special ‘ginger bread’ flavour for Christmas. Priced at $20 they’re great stocking fillers or gifts for friends.

Perfume like Miss Dior

Perfume

Teenagers love to douse themselves in perfume. Current favourites are Miss Dior for the older teens and anything by Arianna Grande for the younger teens. If you can nab Arianna’s Cloud perfume , you’ll be her favourite aunt/friend/godmother for life.

A make-up organiser that swivels

Make-Up Organiser

Lots of product, means it all needs to stored and organised. These perspex make-up organisers are the bomb as they swivel! This one on Amazon has two-tiers which I prefer. Around $40. (Note: you do have to put it together, but it’s not hard).

The *Star* Stayers

Some of the gifts from last year’s guide were so popular, I’ve brought them back for 2022.

Triangl Bikinis

These were on the list last year and they’re here again this year. For good reason, every teenager ‘needs’ a drawerful of bikinis. And Triangl are the coolest (though, very, very brief).

Poppy Lissiman Bag

The “Bobby” bag was such a hit last year that I’ve included it again. (I received more messages about this bag than anything else on last year’s list!) Every teen “has” to have one. Electric blue or green are popular this year.

And that’s a wrap for the Teens! Stay tuned for the Adult version coming soon.
